Theatrum vitae. Marian Kołodziej

The National Museum in Gdansk together with the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre and the Museum of World War II have been realising a project Theatrum vitae. Marian Kołodziej. Theatre of life devoted to Marian Kołodziej (1921-2009).
 

Kołodziej, a great theatre and film scenographer, designer of pope’s altars in Gdansk and Sopot as well as many magnificent exhibitions was also an author of Memory Cliches. Labyrinths of Marian Kołodziej, a striking installation devoted to his personal experiences during the World War II (Marian Kołodziej was imprisoned in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, signed with nr 432).

 

The project consists of three parts:
 

1. Exhibition

Varnishing day: 4 December 2011, 11.00am, St. John's International Cultural Centre, 50 Swiętojańska str., Gdansk, will be open until 2 January 2012, Monday - Saturday: 10.00 am - 6.00 pm, Sunday: 1.00pm - 6.00p

 

2. Conference
