The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to stay isolated stick to numerous restrictions. Closed in our little worlds, we learned to appreciate the worth of imagination again. We invite you – parents with children, young adults – to release your fantasy and begin a journey to a mysterious place. The guides will be artists and researchers working with art and picturebook.
Have you ever heard of an concept idea of Ultima Thule? Have you wondered what is at the end of the world we know? A few millimetres outside the map? Nothingness? Windy land covered with dense mist? Or perhaps unknown land cohabited by fantastic creatures?
Ultima Thule is the end of the world, literally “the last island”. Distant, wept with ice cold wind land out of time and space, a land where travellers aimed to go. In time, the Ultima Thule became a symbol of the unknown, the mystic isolation and mystery. It is the end of the world, a starting point of a journey. A place where imagination is born.
